History

A-1 Refrigeration was started in 1940 by L.C. “Smitty” Schmidt.  The company consisted of “Smitty” and two servicemen.  The concept of refrigeration was relatively new at that time and as the industry grew so did A-1 Refrigeration.

During the past 69 years we have grown to a staff of thirteen and service over one thousand commercial and industrial accounts.  Today our area of expertise is service on commercial refrigeration and air conditioning & heating units.

Recently we divided the company to form two divisions, the refrigeration division and the air conditioning and heating division.  Separate divisions enable us to more fully service our customer’s needs.
